soooo I have been slacking on the blog front...seriously... end of february...now mid april...really almost may.... we've had a big birthday and a major holiday (easter)...not sure why i haven't written - both events were great...i kept telling myself, 'i need to blog...i need to post pics of the stuff going on...' yeah yeah ok so here we are...i wonder how many blog posts start out with this same opening... stop counting if you are scrolling back through the posts...
march we had curt's 32nd birthday.... it was a great time... both sides of the family came over to celebrate... made the best dessert ever!
so yeah this is a super duper picture of me...and it's the only one so we'll just all have to grin and bear it...ha
next was Easter...what an day....oh man jam packed with fun stuff from the minute the boys wake up to the minute they fall asleep in the car on the way home...Curt was excited because he finally got to enjoy one of these....yeah really...all Lenten season it's all I heard about, 'oh I hope they still have those after Easter...I'm going to eat about 10 of them on Sunday!"
The boys woke up normal 7am like a light switch being flipped - excited about the Easter bunny and the goodies he brought - what I find funny is there is no "oh you better behave because the Easter bunny won't come" like during Christmas and Santa... why is this? I think we should start...is there a little chick that will come to my house and hide and show up each morning during Lent returning to ensure the boys are acting like good little boys they know how to be...going to the Easter bunny's burrow at night and telling on them when they don't act right...just like our Ellie the elf does during the holiday season....by gosh I think I've thought of another marketing scheme....muuuaaahhhahah...yeah right...maybe I'll just do it myself:) need to remember this for next year - jeez you could really do that for every holiday... halloween - could be a little ghost that tells the great pumpkin of your naughtiness...goes on and on...
We went to the Wilson side first - started the day with a nice meal - ham and cheesy potatoes...I made this again per Curt's request...and yes it was about 2 weeks since the last time he had them...funny guy.
yes i bought the boys guns for Easter - what of it...not the best gift I realize...but they were $0.97 and hold water for the bathtub and outside play...and for the most part they are very good with them...but they are boys...love to point and shoot...right now we are shooting ants...ants are the enemies...
that's all the pics we have of Easter - lame huh? Curt took video...not sure how to post that on here...maybe I'll revise later when I figure it out... picture this: tons o' eggs on a huge grassy field for 6 kids, laughing, running, crying...screaming...whining...usual fair when it comes to being tired, over stimulated, etc.
So off we left to my parents house before the meltdowns began...trying/hoping/praying for a nap in the car from the south to the north...but to no avail...it was as if they both knew MORE good stuff was coming...
Mom put out eggs for the boys-- kind of funny to go from a 6+ kid hunt to just the two of 'em... we need more grand kids on that side that's for sure...:) We had a good time visiting with both sides - I got to snuggle baby Sam....makes me want another one...sooo bad....I love babies...just love them... ok enough of that...
Then we have soccer - 2nd season of soccer....its awesome...I love it...I hope Noah does too...I think he does...He gets excited about it, but then wavers and says he doesn't want to go...I worry that he really doesn't like it...he's just doing it because I'm making a big deal of it...I want him to like it...it's good for him to run and be outside and listen to other adults for directions...ahh well.
That's Coach Shawn...
This year is completely different than last year...organized by a group called Challenger Sports...there are 4-5 teams of about 12 kids... no games are played...they told the parents at this age there is no purpose of a game as there are usually 10 kids swarming around one ball and 9 of the kids don't get to even touch the ball so this year everything is drills and touches on the ball... to me a better structured environment - not sure what the other parents think... some i'm sure think a game would be better because their kid is huge and can dominate... yeah i'm not one of those... i like it too that the parents are asked to come and play with them so they see that we are involved and wanting them to get better too... l.o.v.e i.t :)
ok i'm pooped... going to bed... that's enough blogging...for now anyway...
