Pony Party... otherwise known as the Wilson's going away party...

some family members are moving to Hawaii... yes, yes  Hawaii!  I am jealous, flat out jealous.  Only for 2 years.  Its going to be great - I think so anyway.

In honor of them leaving the continental 48... my in-laws threw them a going away party, complete with miniature horses to ride for all the kids... they were all pretty happy and excited.  I told my mother in-law she set that bar so stinking high, from now on if there are no ponies involved you're going to have a hard time getting my kids there...

here are some my cuties enjoying the day!

Easter 2015

We had a crazy, but fun Easter weekend.
Saturday we went down to the Wilson side and had the annual Easter egg hunt in the backyard...every year the eggs grow, the prizes are grander and the excitement increases!

We had a lovely dinner with brisket, macaroni and cheese and cupcakes.  All three boys had a wonderful time playing with cousins, 2nd cousins and extended family.

Sunday we had the Flynn side over to our house.  We had a brunch theme and it was so good if I do say so myself.  Lots of fun sides (muffins, fruit salad, hot cross buns!).

The boys played and played - both little and big!  Photos and video to remember the wonderful day!

Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving was great this year - two separate gatherings (which is so nice when you have kids as it is utter torture on parents when you cram two family gatherings into one day - it can be done, but it is torture)...  Thursday was at my parents - it was all day...good food, lots of good conversation...the boys (all of them) had a great day!  Friday we went to the in-laws and it also was super nice - surprisingly relaxing... also had great food (soups & sides)...  here are some pics of my turkeys before the get togethers...

please take note with the pictures - we seem to have to do a 'crazy' picture first to "get us in the mood" and then we can do a normal smiling picture... i keep telling myself - a dlsr would be super nice for these types of situations :)  Seth is still a one click wonder - right now he might be favorite for picture taking:)

Even Seth looks silly in this one...
And once again...what's with the tongue Seth?

to infinity and beyond...via I-70

holy moly...what a trip...i can't believe we did it...but we did...it was long...sometimes arduous...sometimes there was crying and whining...sometimes there was sleeping...but there was always singing.... can you even imagine where we've been?  Let's see if good ol' John Denver can help you figure it out...!

Yep that's right.  We drove 9+ hours from our lovely, comfortable home to the Rocky Mountains of Denver, CO.  Ok well we didn't drive 9+ hours in one day, but the hours we did drive felt like 9+ hours!  Fortunate for us we stayed with my cousin and her family at the hotel Banninger...it was so nice, Noah got to run around and play, Mark got to run around and play and Curt and I got to enjoy peace!

The reason we went to Denver was for my brother in-laws School of Dentristry graduation...can you believe it...we have a HVAC man in the family who is married to a nurse, who has a brother who is a doctor, who is married to a super smart teacher with the patience of Ghandi, who has a brother in-law that knows everything about every electronic device known to man and can fix just about anything you throw at him...nice family huh!?  yeah their mine...every last one of 'em...see how well we fit together below...

I am not really sure what happened here...I just said to the cameraman (Brandon, Teal's brother in-law), "ok now let's do a funny one"...and every Wilson in the pic (except for the littlest) decided, funny = stick your tongue out...isn't that funny!?  Must be something with the Wilson's!

This picture was taken on Echo Lake and it was very pretty, but a little cold, yep May 29th and it was about 50 degrees...snow was still present on some parts of the lake.

We did have a little rough patch driving down the mountain, as Denver is approximately 5,280 feet above sea level (get it Mile-High city) and by the time we got to the Mt. Evans entrance station Mark wasn't feeling real well...sort of spit up a bit...the roads were a bit windy, but I didn't think much of it.  Well coming back on the backside, going through Evergreen, CO again it was very windy (not windy, wind like a clock) and Noah threw up...boy that was super fun...I think I jumped out of the car before Curt even had it stopped and cleaned up the mess...this I also think is a Wilson trait as Gma Wilson said she felt queasy too...oh well...he said he felt better afterwards so that was all that mattered :)

We drove back and again stopped in Salina at my cousin's house and this time hotel Banninger had wine waiting for me... the hostess-with-the-mostest is an angel and had wine chilled waiting for consumption...it was almost as if she knew i would need it...not that i sent her a text message earlier in the afternoon requesting that she get some...HA!

Two things I learned from this trip:
1.) We Wilson's can do anything, we may whine, we may cry, but by GOD we will get it done!
2.) We can do anything, therefore Hawaii here we come!

Oh and here's a proof that the doctor really did graduate and that we really did attend!!

baby # 2

so it's been forever + forever since i've posted...i think my sister is downright disgusted with my performance on this thing...i don't blame her...i'm pathetic right now...being 6.5mos pregnant just sucks your energy even past the lowest level you thought you had...

i read a friend's blog and she is stressing about 100 more days to go until her third is born...i have 96 left, but i feel her pain... i worry we won't have everythig done that we need to... i constantly am bugging my husband "can't we work on that this weekend...you know i don't want to do it when i'm 7, 8, 9mos pregnant when i'm really uncomfortable"... funny thing is... i'm alrady uncomfortable...it's hard to get up off the floor...rolling out of the bed is literal... i am getting to my point of 'done being pregnant'.

we've had some changes to our house lately... in getting ready for the second baby we've moved Noah out of the 'daybed/crib' and into a big boy bed... it's my old bed from when i was a kid (my brother used it too which i think is cool)...

let me tell you - the new mattress on this bed is amazing! it's so hard and supportive...makes me want to get a new bed --> curt just said "you're only feeling that way because you're pregnant, once you have him you'll want the soft cushy bed we have now"... i sure hope so!

We also have celebrated my husband turning the big 3-0...frankly i can't believe we are now both in our 30's... we were such kids when we met...21-20...babies! i can't believe we've been together 10 years! it's so amazing to look back and see what we've done...where we've been...what we've accomplished! here's some pics of the b-day...

ok i think that's it for now...that was kind of a blog barf huh? a purge of everything in the last couple of months... well i feel better... hope you do too:)

Wedding in Manhattan...

So in my lifetime I've been in four weddings (including my own). With each experience comes nostalgia, excitement and relief.

Nostalgia can have many different meanings. First you might think the obvious, oh how good I looked in my dress, the flowers and how fresh they smelled, how everyone you know in the world is sitting in one room to watch a promise made between you and your husband. It can also take a more negative tone in which you compare all others to your own as everyone has their own ideas, feelings and expectations.

Excitement can be explained with my favorite part of any wedding...the site of the groom looking at the bride walking down the aisle. Its amazing after all that time of planning for attire, flowers, venues, menus, rings, honeymoon that it comes down to approximately twenty minutes (even in a true catholic wedding) to where the biggest promise is made ever. My wedding only was six months of planning. My cousins' was almost eight months. My best friends was also six months. The latest wedding, my sister in-law, a lengthy ten months. And yet with every wedding all the grooms have about the same facial expression: J-O-Y! There is not other word for it...it can mean a billion things to one person, but all they are feeling is happiness.

Finally relief is in order because of all of that planning has resulted in a wonderful experience that most people remember for a lifetime. Can you imagine planning for something like that for so long and it really only takes about twenty minutes? Twenty minutes is how long it takes me to get to work now...and it was the same amount of time it took to tell my husband that I would love him forever and do anything for him. Pretty amazing when you compare it to something so everyday and ordinary... Now this relief can hit at any time...For the bride its usually as we walk down the aisle because there isn't much left for us to argue for, stress about or control. For the parents of the bride and groom that relief is probably felt after the reception and with the realization that everything has been paid for and a good time was had by all. For the maid of honor...the person who has done just about anything that bride has asked, countless opinion questions, advice, recommendations, hours of listening to venting about how this or that isn't working, not calling back, etc. I feel like I was in essence planning this wedding too. I was there for almost every decision. Anything that didn't work or was too much money I was there to help find a new way. I am in no way complaining about this major responsibility - for the most part things went smoothly, but what I am frustrated about is that I helped with all that work and didn't get a honeymoon out of it. What did I get? I got a free ticket to come back home and do all the laundry. I got another free ticket to go to work for the whole week after that crazy wedding weekend.
And you know is so fantastic about those free tickets - I wouldn't turn them in for anything - I love being married - I love that we've already been through the 'newlyweds' phase and we are in a great place = 5 years this Oct. 30th. It really has flown by.
