too funny not to write down...
The big boys have wanted, asked for, begged for a dog for a long time. Probably too soon after Zorro's death even... Anyway we were driving home last night from soccer practice and we were talking about getting one... and what we would name it. I told them I'd want to get a girl dog - for the reason that I am surrounded by boys...might be nice to have another girl in the family...even if it's an animal. The boys both like Violet, Hazel and Sugar. Violet is their number one right now. When we get home - Mark asks Curt what he'd like to name the dog. Curt says "Jake!". Mark looks at him, with seriousness and responds "from State Farm?"!!!!! we all died laughing... even Mark caught himself and realized he'd made a joke! so now we pretty much HAVE to get a girl dog or it's name will be "Jake from State Farm"...

funny conversations
went to the pool sunday night...
Noah makes the comment "my hair is already dry Momma!"
I reply "cool buddy...nice when your hair is short and it dries so fast...mine is still wet..."
Mark quietly says "my head ate up all the wetness on my hair... it's in my brain now"...

funny conversations
Mark comes home all smiles from school on his birthday ->
Mark: Momma wanna hear my birthday song?
Me: Sure!
Mark: This is your birthday song. It isn't very long!
Sang this all night... thought he was so funny!
Later on... but still out of the blue...
I am laying on the couch watching my ever loved food network. Noah comes over touches my foot.
Noah: Momma you know when you go to that toenail place? They can remove that scratchy stuff. (as he touches my heel).
Me: Oh yeah? I know they can - I haven't gone in a while.
Noah: Can you have them do that to you? Please.
Curt: It will just come back Noah...
Noah: (frowning) - Really? Why?
**if anyone has $30 to share I'll go get my little issue taken care of straight away...otherwise don't touch my heel?

recent pics
just a few recent pictures... trying out the bumbo chair... almost strong enough to do it on his own... still just a little wobbly in the neck, but making awesome progress! He seemed to really like it - sitting up and looking around... eyeing those big brothers - haha!
speaking of progress...
Mark decided he wanted to hold Seth for the first time...he asked if he could... only took 3 months to get there... I'll take it!

sickness...oh the drama!
Last week was a picture into our future...our future as parents of 3 children... 3 children who can also get sick at the same time...
Fortunately it wasn't all at the same time, but close enough. Noah started last Monday, puked a couple of times...laid around all day...ate some pretzels by nights end and was better for school on Tuesday. Back to normal Tuesday.... then Wednesday morning Mark starts puking... no mind you he had been coughing for a good couple of weeks so we thought it was just that - you see my children cough so hard they barf...like everytime they get a cough... not just a cough in this house...always something to go with it...a side of puking...time spent crying over the toilet because they just don't understand why they are doing both..."momma it's just coughing!" yeah yeah - it's never just a cough...my hair on my neck stands on end when anyone of them starts coughing - it will always be more...
Back to Mark - he stayed home - did okay most of the day... was well enough to go Thursday... and of course I have tried my darnedest to stay away so one of us could be with Seth...lord knows what we would have done with him puking when all he eats is milk and does so every 3-4 hours... I get up Thursday...get the boys breakfast - eat breakfast myself, but by 930am I was feeling crummy...like 'oh man what am i going to do with Seth here and i'm by myself" - crummy... Well I threw up around 11... oh and my blood sugar ws in the toilet... which stinks when you can eat/drink anything...so of course I called Curt crying - freaking out - oh and I was terrified of losing all the work I've done pumping because if you don't drink water you don't have much output when it comes to milk production... it was a triple whammy! but just as the boys had been by that evening I was well enough to eat some pudding and have a little water... by midnight when i got up to pump i was feeling back to normal. Then poor Curt...the man who had taken care of us all...been with us through all of the puking, all the sheets being washed... comforting all of us...started around 3am... and bless his heart didn't stop until around 2pm...he had it the worst of all of us...thankfully by Saturday morning he was able to keep Gatorage and pudding down... and by Sunday we all went out to eat and to Costco... we all wanted "SALT"...anything with salt... we were all dehydrated i am sure and needed something with flavor and salt in it... I have never seen the boys eat so much...or be in such great moods about eating:) Took some pictures of our dessert, but keep in mind they both ate hamburgers, chili fries and now were onto "worm ice cream"... :) Fortunately Seth never got it - thanks to the Rotovirus vaccine his little tough body got at 2mos... getting another one in March at his 4mos check up - what i want to know is why can't they give that to adults or older children...i know i would welcome shots that prevented throwing up... haha!
Stay away sickness... don't want you back...ever (ok i know that's dramatic, but seriously i could do without)...

crack is whack...
this stuff should be called crack...literally it is so good that it's all consuming... even the boys love it to the point of asking "hey momma can we have a little scoop of that brown stuff in the pantry..." REALLY? little scoop of the brown stuff... hilarious... this stuff is so good...i'm so glad i paid the $3.78 for it at wal-mart...totally worth it.
Does it make it less un-healthy if i scoop it out with a slice of apple? makes sense in my head anyway...

follow up and a slumber party!
Well last week was great on the dinner front... made everything I wanted to except for the potato soup, it's been so stinkin' warm who wants to eat soup... so we'll save it for another time. I have a feeling February and March are going to bumpy... Also tried something cool - monster green smoothie...see pictures for proof... Mark loved it - got mad when we took it away from him...Curt said it was okay (of course he did...such a good husband, but i doubt i'll get him to try it again) and Noah liked it but not as well as Mark...ahh good ol' Mark, he'll try anything for momma!
On a fun note Noah got to have his first non-family sleep over last weekend with his dear friend Wyatt. One word for this super fun party --> VOLUME! the volume of three boys in this house was incredible in every sense of that word...squealing, screaming, yelling, sound effects and of course some crying... It was so fun to watch them play non-stop...coming up with new games, different ways of playing with the same ol' toys we've had forever...and to watch Mark just take it all in an follow as one of the group was just awesome! Curt told me a story on Sunday after they had all left and it was quiet...I guess when I went to get the pizza on Saturday night he heard all of the boys playing in Noah's room...then it got quiet (which is never good) and then he heard Mark sort of whining...he walked back there and saw Mark trapped underneath a clear tote bin (used for clothes or toys in the basement) and Noah and Wyatt were sitting on top... it took Curt all his strength not to laugh (because I guess he had done this with his brother TO his sister all the time while they were growing up...), but he said "UH NO" to them and made them let Mark out...thank goodness...hopefully there was no permanent damage done...i don't think there was...all in the name of being one of the 'big' boys right Mark....poor kid! I wish Curt would've taken a picture of it...ah well :)
Here's a pic of them playing in the basement - glad we got to do the slumber party...it was fun, for all of us...ready to do it again and let him be the visitor:)

overheard...
while opening a Hershey's Kiss tonight...
Noah: Momma there's a note!
(meaning the little flag that stands up on the kiss)
Me: oh yeah? what does it say?
Noah: please be careful with the chocolate, PLEASE!
love it:)

driving to daycare
Noah: Momma i think the sun hit the snooze.
Me: oh yeah? why?
Noah: it's sure cloudy, i think he pulled the cloud over for a pillow and blanket.
no words - my mouth dropped - not sure where he comes up with this stuff, but it sure is cute!

omg the math! -- and weekend stuff!
this is so silly...i am using a calculator to make sure the baby countdown day thing on this blog is accurate... i was just looking on here thinking "oh i haven't posted in a while, what's been going on that is interesting.." and i see 78 days! um hellooooo... 30 days = 1month, 60 days = 2months so i officially have 2months and 18 days...where the heck did the time go??? it's almost the very end of April already! only May and June and baby Wilson #2 comes out...and yes we've already scheduled his birth...which is weird in and of itself...oh well...
on to more fun stuff?? First we went to a truck show at Theater in the Park (Via Shawnee Mission Park) where they had all, but not limited to: fire truck, police car, tow truck, cement truck, tractor, bobcat, school bus, dump truck, etc. It was a blast - basically a Christmas for boys (although there were some girls there too)!

And then we seem to spend our weekends at either one of the grandparents houses... this past one we spent at both sides...but basically did the same activity - how i love spring! saturday my parents were getting their garden ready...my dad was flipping out because he was over a month late getting this "cool" stuff in (potatoes, broccoli, onions, carrots)...i guess i remember him doing these back around St. Patrick's day...i usually remember him trying to finagle around the rain (of which we haven't had too much this spring??)... anyway - Noah had a B-L-A-S-T with this... for a 2 year old to focus and do tedious work as placing an onion bulb with the tip up in the tiny hole...but doggone it he did it and did the entire bag! then we did potatoes with grandma helping...then broccoli and we loved putting the fence around each plant...
sunday we went to the in-laws to have a birthday lunch for my father-in-law...and all Noah wanted to do was ride the John Deere riding lawn mower (or tractor!)... the minute we walked in he went right up and asked..."pretty please papa, ride the tractor..." picture a kid tilting his head, holding his hands together in a begging motion...freakin' hilarious! they went out and tooled around the yard...came in to have lunch... went back out for another ride... then we planted flowers...and watered...best part of the whole process for him...then wanted to do it again (ride the tractor)... i had to negotiate and tell him that the tractor was sleeping and he needed to take a nap too... it turned into a "if you don't go in and lay down for a while then we're not riding anymore..." discussion, but he did and slept 2 hours and not before we left we went around the yard again! planting and riding a tractor - what could be better!
