new label - description finally fits!

well well well... we did it... we finally made the description of this blog - true again.

'the life and times (crazy or otherwise) of a gal, with a family, a dog & the American dream...here goes nothing'...

yep - we got a dog!  a puppy really.  9wk puppy.  she might as well be a newborn they way we watch her, dote on her, freak out if she starts sniffing to go potty... and the whimpering at night... poor thing.  i'll be glad when she is comfortable and happy in her kennel... and knows its her safe place.

but we are all in love with her - heck the whole neighborhood loves her... all the kids love to see her and pet her, talk to her... she's spoiled with attention right now :)

her first night...boys were so so so excited!

having fun with her new toys!

Noah felt like it was a dream come true!

such a sweet girl!

She really is such a pretty girl - love the little white patch on her chest!

She got to go on her first field trip yesterday (monday) and had fun at the park with Curt and the boys!

chilling with dad!

and my little turkey having fun on the rocks!  'i'm king daddy!'

Scout Camp 2016

3rd week of June was a HOT one - it was a long week.  Curt took the whole week off to take the big boys to Scout camp.   Middle of no where fields with grass and limited trees and loads of little boys running around, sweating, whining, spraying water bottles and having so.much.fun!

This post will be all pictures.  No other way to describe the week.

Sling shots!  First day no less!

Noah aim and fire!

It was hot, this was their make-shift shade!

BB guns!!

Look at that bullseye!!

Noah shooting BB guns!

Bullseye for him too!

Last day... so hot, so tired, but filled to brim with happiness that they all went!

January, February and a mouse... eek!

Oh my, oh my... a mouse in the house...sure why not start with the crazy stuff right?  One Saturday, the boys were downstairs playing in their room; he comes up yelling, "I think there's a squirrel in the window!"... of course I freak out.  Curt is calm of course.  Mark is squealing with delight hoping we get to keep it!  We head downstairs - All of us... and what did we find, but a field mouse... one who had been living high on the hog I might add.

Well of course Curt decides to save the mouse, not sure if it's because Mark was so excited to have an actual animal near the house or if he just didn't want to kill it in front of the boys... he gets a box, gloves and climbs down into the window well and gets him.  We all walk across the street to the open field and let him go... and of course the little turd starts running back towards the house!  I scream at it and try to get it turned around...and I did... thank goodness.  Curt decides to check the other well...and the mouse's buddy didn't do as well... hard as a rock, stiff as a board... I was done for the day... too much veterinary work for me for one day.

Not sure if the next bit was before or after this, but we have a peanut allergy in the house... yep Seth is allergic to peanuts...had him officially tested in February... so we will be free o' peanuts until we get him re-tested at 3yrs...  so far it hasn't been too terrible...

Noah played basketball this year - and fell in love with it.  He was pretty darn good if I do say so myself.  He was getting dribbling down and loved to shoot the ball...I think we will definitely have him play again.

And the biggest news of all...Curt got a promotion...pretty big promotion... pretty significant change to schedule, but we are all adjusting and managing... all part of the bigger plan.  We all got to go out and celebrate on the company...had fun with pasta and meatballs!

Povitica with # 3

Every year my parents continue the tradition of making authentic Povitica that my grandparents made...traditional nut bread that is just amazing and I know I've said before "isn't a real holiday without it present"...

They made some one Thursday and Seth happened to be there also to "help"... he had a ball apparently with my dad's clamps that hold the fabric down on the table... tooling around under the table...

Wilson Spring Break 2014 - Days 4 & 5

Well day 4 was boring... for me i guess... i cleaned the house... the boys went with Curt to drop off the taxes and visit their great grandparents in Ottawa...i guess they did have a good time - got to play with tons of toys and great gma even gave mark a dinosaur... he gave her a huge hug and thanked her and it about made her fall over with happiness...  so that was good:)

Day 5 was all about March Madness - our Jayhawks played...we had some friends over so that made it fun for the boys - they played in the bounce house (outside --> best money ever spent!) for like 3 hours...and then brought it inside and played with legos...ahh legos - the universal toy that anyone can play with...

I think overall the boys (including Curt) had a great break... Curt grew a nice long vacation beard that I was happy to see go Sunday morning, Noah lost a pesky tooth...Mark gained a few more animal toys... and I know they had a ton of fun being together - doing 'guy stuff'...doing it 'daddy's way'...not taking naps, eating donuts for breakfast every morning (i kind of joke, but not really)...and staying up late... which really is what breaks are for right - having tons of fun and taking it easy...letting loose... going with the flow...

this morning (1st day back) wasn't too traumatic... only a little bit of whining...which could be any day not just the 1st day back...  ready to finish off this school year with a bang... come on summer vacation!

i think Curt told them they had to share the donuts... haha!

Wilson Spring Break 2014 - Day 3

Day 3 - Cosmic Jump!

You know you have a good husband when he comes up with fun, exciting ideas for the kids to do on their Spring Break.  I never would have thought of this.  I only came up with the aquarium.  boring, learn something, aquarium... but leave it to Curt to come up with the awesomely-fun stuff...

Most of the pictures are blurry...hard to get a good one when they are jumping, mid-jump and or running... but looked like they had an awesome time!

Oh and because we are boys and can't seem to do anything without punching, fighting, horsing around...we now have one less tooth.  Yeah no big deal really - it was loose anyway, but he said it did hurt a bit...probably wasn't that ready to come out.  Oh well - tooth fairy comes on Spring Break too...

Wilson Spring Break 2014 - day 2

Day 2 - went to see the Lego movie and lunch with Mom...

Movie was great - the boys both love, love, love Legos... could play for hours making cars, trucks, boats, guns (of course) with them.  I'm glad because I so enjoyed them as a kid - it's nice to see toys that last through the years.

Once again they were both tired - well all three actually - Curt is enjoying this time off!

After the movie they came and took me to lunch...Firehouse - one of my faves!

I wanted to get a picture - smiling - enjoying lunch.  Of course Mark needed like 5 to get it accomplished.  He really is my child.  If you look at pictures of me (even now as an adult) I'm usually the one doing something silly (bunny ears, waving my hands or legs)... no wonder huh?

Noah my little poser only needed one (but I took three cuz he's so darn cute)- and Curt he's such a trooper :)

Wilson Spring Break 2014 - day 1

Day 1 - Sea Life Aquarium:

Well we always start off with a bang don't we?  Our first official spring break should be no different.  Curt took the whole week off to enjoy having fun with Noah and Mark...sleeping in... doing fun things...growing a vacation beard... ha!

We didn't tell the boys until that morning - Curt kept them guessing...  Mark as usual was over the moon about it...he loves animals..anything to do with animals...doesn't matter what kind... or what type of activity it is...as long as there are some sort of animals involved he is game.

Curt said Mark would barely look away from the tanks to take a picture - you can tell from the pictures he's afraid he's going to miss something.  When I got home they both had new stuffed animals... a manta ray (for Mark) and a black tipped reef shark (for Noah)...when I asked if they got one for Seth... they said "no he didn't go momma"... well i guess that's the life of the 3rd born...you don't go, you don't get a toy.  rough.

everyone ready to go... notice it was St. Patrick's Day, but we had to wear our "shark" shirts
so the aquarium knew we were supposed to be there...
who am I kidding - Mark would wear this shirt every day if I had it cleaned for him.

Enjoying being "in" the tank... I am sure Mark would jump in if someone offered that as an option.

See Mark...barely looking...probably got yelled at for that... I told Curt to take lots of pictures.

They look tired don't they?

Curt said they were so tired afterward. He took them to Fritz's to have lunch...Noah laid down in the seat...Mark told him to just have it quiet in the car on the way home... What wimps I have... 1st day and they are tired from a 2 hour walk around to see some fish.. I hope by the time Seth is Mark's age we can go somewhere really fun and get through a whole week of activities...
Stay tuned for today's adventure... the Lego Movie.
