Easter 2015

We had a crazy, but fun Easter weekend.
Saturday we went down to the Wilson side and had the annual Easter egg hunt in the backyard...every year the eggs grow, the prizes are grander and the excitement increases!

We had a lovely dinner with brisket, macaroni and cheese and cupcakes.  All three boys had a wonderful time playing with cousins, 2nd cousins and extended family.

Sunday we had the Flynn side over to our house.  We had a brunch theme and it was so good if I do say so myself.  Lots of fun sides (muffins, fruit salad, hot cross buns!).

The boys played and played - both little and big!  Photos and video to remember the wonderful day!

Gone Fishin'

My parents got Noah a fishing pole (and who are we kidding...Mark got one too just because he's cute and has to have something to do with his brother - that's why gma's and gpa's are amazing!) for his birthday.  My parents wanted to take both boys fishing so they could try out their new gear.

We went to Wal-mart and with Noah's birthday money he bought himself a tackle box to put all of his new lures / hooks / etc in and was so excited to see it all organized.

We went to Shawnee Mission Park Lake - it was a nice afternoon, warm, but not too hot that is was torture to sit and relax.  Both boys really enjoyed it.  Mark surprisingly sat very still on the rocks with my dad and did exactly what he told him... I think we found something Mark will enjoy for years to come...  We didn't catch anything...shoot I don't think we even saw anything in the water, but I know the boys are ready to go again soon.

Seth's 4mos update

Seth is now 4 1/2 months...and just had his check up last week... doing pretty well - growing strong...

26.75 in -- 97% -- he is going to be a tall human... yay Flynn - side!
15.12 lbs -- 75%

Can't remember the head circumference, but pretty sure we're right on target :)

He's definitely different from the other two boys... he's got a bit of eczema...very sensitive skin - like very sensitive...his poor little cheeks need constant attention... hydrocortizone so far has been a good help... have to see if it keeps up...won't be able to have anything with fragrances or dyes in it for him... not sure how much it affects him yet... i haven't noticed too much of a problem with the dryer bar that has a mild floral scent on his clothes... but he is definitely sensitive to the Johnson's baby lotion (pink stuff that smells amazing)...yeah none of that for him poor guy...have to stick with Aveeno or anything else that is "free" of everything... honestly it shouldn't be a big deal because I don't usually buy stuff like that anyway for myself... i seem to do better with "sensitive" skin type lotions, soaps, shampoos, etc... so we'll just use stuff like that on him.  overall still a happy baby!

see those poor cheeks!

Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving was great this year - two separate gatherings (which is so nice when you have kids as it is utter torture on parents when you cram two family gatherings into one day - it can be done, but it is torture)...  Thursday was at my parents - it was all day...good food, lots of good conversation...the boys (all of them) had a great day!  Friday we went to the in-laws and it also was super nice - surprisingly relaxing... also had great food (soups & sides)...  here are some pics of my turkeys before the get togethers...

please take note with the pictures - we seem to have to do a 'crazy' picture first to "get us in the mood" and then we can do a normal smiling picture... i keep telling myself - a dlsr would be super nice for these types of situations :)  Seth is still a one click wonder - right now he might be favorite for picture taking:)

Even Seth looks silly in this one...
And once again...what's with the tongue Seth?

our little graduate! and pics of the zoo...of course

How random of a blog post right?  two opposite directions don't you think?  kind of how our life is moving now a days!

First, Noah graduated from the pre-school program at his school...officially sending him off to Kindergarten this fall...(holy cow it just keeps getting more real!)

This is our little guy, er rather big guy now :)

This is one of his good buddies (also named Noah)...

Unfortunately I did not get a picture of him and his teachers...they were pretty strict about getting those caps and gowns back asap before anyone could head for the cookie table...and let's be honest, after sitting in a church for about an hour - singing, reciting letters, numbers, spanish colors...I'd want a darn cookie too!  I'll try to get one before he officially leaves this summer...  Overall it was a pretty good ceremony...a little emotional... the teachers made a photo stream of all the kids from when they started to this last week before the graduation...its just amazing to see how much he's changed...

That next day after the graduation we headed out on a family vacation to the Omaha Zoo...my parents came with us - it was a pretty good time...except that it was cold (alright freezing), we all were in shorts (thankfully Curt brought us all jackets, just in case) and Curt made me ride the sky safari... yeah...that honestly was the worst part of the trip for me...hated every minute...had kung-fu death grip on the handles...was only relieved momentarily when we went over the water all the while thinking at least I wouldn't die if I landed in the water...

don't i look super happy...that was the best he could get me to smile...

and here you have my parents with my 'no-fear' son who had a blast riding up so high!

an animal if the sky safari broke - we could have fallen into it's pen...

horsing around on a giraffe...hehe

more 'horsing around'

in front of my favorite animal...i love this section of the zoo!

looks like part of the family right?  i call him George...George the giraffe

have to ride the train...

the goofballs bringing up the caboose!

this past weekend...

Just a few things...

Noah went to the dentist - was a complete rock star like usual!

We have a wiggly tooth!
I got a cleaning bug and finally dismantled the Tupperware cabinet - I was so mad at it I didn't even take a 'before' picture - but I really should have because it was just awful!
ahh - it better stay like this!
Then we spent St. Patrick's Day with my family, enjoying reubens and college basketball...love that holiday!

on a roll...

tonight's dinner was awesome - simple as that - A-W-E-S-O-M-E!
It wasn't anything fancy. Nothing that a normal, smart person who can read a recipe couldn't accomplish, but man alive it was so fantastic I am still thinking about it at 8:30pm tonight!

We had cube steak... with homemade gravy... and baked sweet potato fries...

see told ya it wasn't anything fancy, but is your mouth watering? mine still is..it totally tasted like my parents used to make us!

The kitchen was an absolute tornado, no doubt about that, flour everywhere, oil/butter splattered all over the counter-top, just about every spoon, cutting board, tong I own used or waiting to be used.

I gobbled my steak and gravy and sweet potato fries up - I swear I think I sat down and it was gone in less than 2 minutes... Noah LOVED it - gave me my usual thumbs up and high five, letting me know he approved of the dish. Curt didn't hesitate either, said 'uh we could have this again babe, really' - :) Mark even tried the sweet potatoes - and kind of liked 'em... who wouldn't really? (Curt, that's who - no worries though, the steak was the star tonight!)

So without further ado, pictures to prove my victory:

do you see that delicious gravy!
How can you not love that adorable smile! Dinner could've been a flop and I'd still kiss that cutie!

Good Lord isn't that the most delicious thing you've eve
r seen?!

What a cutie huh? We're still working on teeth, I don't think he was as enthusiastic as I was about the dinner... oh well!

baby # 2

so it's been forever + forever since i've posted...i think my sister is downright disgusted with my performance on this thing...i don't blame her...i'm pathetic right now...being 6.5mos pregnant just sucks your energy even past the lowest level you thought you had...

i read a friend's blog and she is stressing about 100 more days to go until her third is born...i have 96 left, but i feel her pain... i worry we won't have everythig done that we need to... i constantly am bugging my husband "can't we work on that this weekend...you know i don't want to do it when i'm 7, 8, 9mos pregnant when i'm really uncomfortable"... funny thing is... i'm alrady uncomfortable...it's hard to get up off the floor...rolling out of the bed is literal... i am getting to my point of 'done being pregnant'.

we've had some changes to our house lately... in getting ready for the second baby we've moved Noah out of the 'daybed/crib' and into a big boy bed... it's my old bed from when i was a kid (my brother used it too which i think is cool)...

let me tell you - the new mattress on this bed is amazing! it's so hard and supportive...makes me want to get a new bed --> curt just said "you're only feeling that way because you're pregnant, once you have him you'll want the soft cushy bed we have now"... i sure hope so!

We also have celebrated my husband turning the big 3-0...frankly i can't believe we are now both in our 30's... we were such kids when we met...21-20...babies! i can't believe we've been together 10 years! it's so amazing to look back and see what we've done...where we've been...what we've accomplished! here's some pics of the b-day...

ok i think that's it for now...that was kind of a blog barf huh? a purge of everything in the last couple of months... well i feel better... hope you do too:)
