We (I) also decided the kid needed his hair cut... with uno and dos it was emotional... saving of the hair... making some big speech to myself in my head about how it's going to be okay and he's going to look like your little boy, but without the hair in his eyes and then when it was cut you cried because he looked like a toddler and not a baby anymore... writing in the baby book how he did and what you did and who was there... well poor 3rd baby problems... i didn't cry... no sadness... no guilt... i did have a moment of pause to say to myself "wow this is the last first haircut"... and then started trimming...maybe it was because i was by myself...maybe it was because he did so well..just sat there looking at me and letting me do what i needed to...maybe it was because i scooped him up afterward and kissed him and he smiled huge and then i gave him a bath and he slept for 2.5 hours because he was wore out... who knows... i did save the baby hair...it's in a bag marked "seth's 1st haricut, 5/23/14, 1230pm" and tucked it into his baby book... ok maybe i am a little emotional now writing this... it is sad it's the 'last first haircut', but exciting because i got through it... and it was no big deal...it's amazing what experience can do for you...
hey ladies...my hair looks awesome!! |
We've also started eating more... this also was a 'last first'... the boy didn't want to eat until exactly 6months of age...anytime prior i tried and he refused... he is going to be my rule follower i believe...my 'don't rush me momma'-kid.... which is fine... like i said - experience tells me that he'll do what he needs to do when he needs to do it...let's sure hope that applies to everything...going to school, getting a job, getting married, having children! Cereal still isn't his favorite choice...i think he tolerates it because he knows he has my undivided attention...he does love himself some peas, sweet potatoes and green beans, but apples are new...not sure if they are "tart" or "too sweet"... we'll see... either way he's fun to look at when he's eating... such a happy camper!
