We had a pretty great one. First task was running in a 5k at the Sprint campus... I had signed up for this earlier in the month when it was still 50/60's...well woke up and it was 18 degrees outside... yep 18 degrees...one more time 18 degrees! Is that insane to anyone else? Who does that?! Well let me tell you - about 6,000 people that's who! My son's god mother ran with me and I swear we saw bib #'s in the 6,000+ - 6,000 people running all at the same time?! It was pretty cool (no pun intended!). Did okay on the time, bout 46min on the ol' ticker, but frankly I don't think it took me that long because I didn't start at 0:00:00...I think it actually took me about 7-8 minutes to get to the starting line. My boys sat in the car for most of the race...then ventured out to cheer me on at the finish line - that is really cool to be running and see your little 3yr olds face and waving so excitedly to see his mommy! Wish that little bugger could ride in a golf cart beside me the whole way, maybe yelling "GO MOMMY" in a megaphone...can you see it?!
So after the race - raced back home to shower and get to Paola to have t-day with the Wilson side... and the food, family, day was just fabulous... Mark ate sweet potatoes like a champ, all of the adult food was fabulous...it was nice to sit and visit with everyone - seems like we only see them all on major holidays (which is sucky!). No one really napped which is so funny when you think of all the tryptophan (sp?) we all had...just a bunch of jabberwockies! HA! Then we left to go see the Flynn side... my poor parents only had my brother to feed this year... my sister and her fiance went to Boston to celebrate Thanksgiving. They had all the great food though...the stuff we've had for YEARS and this is so ridiculous, but i don't think it's a holiday unless we have certain items (keilbasa or "poli sausage" as us kids call it, povitica) - i mean really if we don't have those items it's just another meal, just another day...LOL! But my mom and dad are seriously the best cooks - their food is so wonderful and heartfelt - it's seriously made with love! We hung out there and then headed home - we were all pooped - must've been that FREEZING COLD WEATHER that morning!
Saturday...ahh Saturday, by this time it seemed like we had been off work for WEEKS..and I'm not complaining, but this break seemed longer than the week we took off at the beginning of the month to go to Florida! Saturday we put up the tree. That was just the tree mind you - no ornaments...pace yourself with a 3yr old :) That night we met up with some friends to do the Luminary Walk at the O.P. Arboretum - it was chilly, but SOOOO PRETTY - what doesn't look good at night covered in lights?! I wish I had taken pictures, but frankly it was pitch black except for the lights so I'm not sure the pictures would have been any good. I know, I know stop crying - maybe next year :)

Don't I have the absolute cutest boys!
Friday - Black Friday - what a joke - I hate this part of Thanksgiving - I hate that the stores require their employees to come in at 3am or not even close just to make money for one day - it's one day - and from what the news stations report it wasn't that great?! Where were the people? Where was the moo-la to be spent... I think a ton of people are saving their moo-la this year and doing other things - giving goodies, doing good deeds...let's hope so right?
Even though I hate Black Friday - we did go out and and got a few Christmas presents...but we did go at a reasonable hour (12pm) and only went to two stores (and they weren't even that busy?). So we are almost done with our Christmas shopping - thank goodness... my husband is one that would wait to the last flippin' week and do it all at once. Not this girl, type A, list maker, OCD with plans and organization - I do a little at a time each week so it doesn't hurt so much and we are doing a good budget this year so it should be easy!

Sunday, bloody Sunday! Went to do family pictures. Oh my oh my...getting ready for pictures with a family full of boys is just stressful. Keeping everyone clean, shirts tucked in, no drool or spit up or boogers...ahh it's the life:) We went to Portrait Innovations - it's okay - not sure we'll go back unless we are absolutely the very first people in there because an appointment doesn't really mean anything - we had to wait about 30 minutes initially to get started, then they put you in room #1 (Christmas or light background) and take some shots, then have to wait to get into room #2 (darker backgrounds), THEN you wait some more for a tv/computer to open up to review all the pictures. The only super positive thing is that the pictures are done in about an hour so you have instant gratification... this is nice, super nice when you've sat there for a couple hours. Fortunately the pictures turned out amazing! I am really happy with the results! Good thing right - can you imagine me if they hadn't been?! Sheesh:)
Here's some proof:

Have a great December - only 27 days to Christmas - that's 4 weeks. Get yourself out there and do something great this season for someone else!
